Groundwork [edit]
Timbaland told MTV that will.i.am'southward work on "I Gotta Feeling" past the Black Eyed Peas inspired him to brand "If We Always Run across Over again": "When I did this song, I was in honey with this record called..... yous're gonna exist surprised. The record didn't take anything to do with ['If Nosotros Ever See Once more'], but when I heard [the Blackness Eyed Peas'] "I Gotta Feeling", I said, 'I want a record just similar that on my album.' I said, 'I gotta practice me a "I Gotta Feeling" record.' Me and ane of my producers, Jim Beanz, we came upwardly with this concept. I said, '["I Gotta Feeling"] is happy, just I like it.' It gives a good feeling".[1] On the record, Timbaland sings, instead of raps: "It'due south not like it's incredible singing, only it made sense for me and it fits my vocalism," he explained. "To get somebody else to sing it, it might sound too overdone. I similar it amend with mistakes — I brand mistakes. With me singing it, it gives information technology a dissimilar kind of swagger to information technology".[1] Katy Perry sang the second verse, while Timbaland sang the first poesy. In the chorus, both of them sang together. The concluding rap poesy is performed by Timbaland's brother Sebastian, but he is uncredited.
Music video [edit]
Timbaland and Katy Perry singing together
The music video was filmed in Dec 2009. Information technology was directed by Paul "Coy" Allen, who directed "Morning After Dark" and "Say Something".[1] [2] Timbaland told MTV that he wanted the video to be serious and mayhap have Perry playing his guardian angel: "I wanna make something deep, I don't know if I wanna make information technology like a relationship. I wanna get in like she saved my life with whatever low I was going through, whether it be drug low, weight-loss depression — something..... Will she exist around if I go through this again?".[1] The vocal debuted with its video premiere on Jan 18, 2010, on U.k. music channels,[3] charting at number 1 on many of the music channel video charts. The video, rather than focusing on a serious human relationship, as mentioned above, focuses on the love story betwixt a jewel thief (Julian Graham) and an art thief (Nadine Heimann), interspersed with Perry and Timbaland singing. In the original video Katy Perry appears in blackness girdle and black leather equally in underwear, while Timbaland in the whole role of the prune was in a brown Jacket and with a apartment cap on his head. The gem thief and art thief take note of each other when both are nowadays at an art exhibit opening. The jewel thief steals a necklace, simply caches information technology (rather than trying to remove it from the bounds). The precious stone thief is later taken in by police force for questioning most an fine art theft, but is released when the art thief secretly returns what she has stolen. As the precious stone thief leaves the police force station, the art thief is waiting for him exterior, and the ii join forces (dressed in black clothes and masks) to steal the original necklace and painting from the commencement of the video.
